Adopt a shark with the Shark Trust

Support shark research and conservation

The Shark Trust adoption programme supports and funds conservation projects and research into sharks in the United Kingdom and California. By adopting a Basking or White Shark you will contribute directly to the Trusts important work, ensuring the future survival of these fascinating but threatened animals. After the initial adoption pack, further reports on the sharks are posted on the adoption pages.

You can adopt Basking Sharks (Cetorhinus maximus), the second largest fish in the sea, which has long been a regular visitor to the British Isles, complete with its own place in history and legend. Or, White Sharks (Carcharodon carcharias), which can be found in temperate seas all over the world, for example, France to South Africa, including the Mediterranean.

Adoption packs include: A personalised certificate, fact sheets on the research projects, leaflets about shark projects, an A4 picture of either a White or Basking Shark, A4 poster - sharks in British waters, a bookmark, car stickers and a set of 8 postcards. The initial adoption pack is very similar to the membership pack, should you order both, items will be duplicated.
