  • Assurance HF Ltd made a donation of £200 and wrote the following words: 'I have had the privilege of diving in the Maldives twice and saw nurse sharks, white tips, reef sharks, guitar rays, mantas and eagle rays. I also got to snorkel with a whale shark. The concept that people ignorantly destroy these amazing creatures makes me both furious and deeply saddened. I might not be in the position to make a direct difference but I can join the battle from afar'.
     
  • Richard Pierce received £100 after giving a talk at Pinewood School, which was donated to the Shark Trust.

  • Liam Byrne, completed the Hull 10K run with a time of 49:32 min. Liam raised £107.49 and writes: 'I would like to thank my mum for making my great shark fin and to all those who sponsored me. This charity has been close to my heart for many years and am delighted to help out and raise awareness for sharks'.

  • The Tuck Shop Gang, from the Llandbury office of Natural Resources in Wales, raised £150 from their charitable tuck shop.
     
  • Duncan Coston ran the Reading half marathon in a time of 2hours 11minutes! 'The culture of out of sight out of mind is just not fitting anymore and the work the Shark Trust do to bring the oceans top predator to light both by education and research is a noble goal. I felt proud to cross the finish line knowing that the money I have raised is for a very good cause. Thank you to everyone who sponsored me raising a total of £245.’

  • NIEA Marine Talk at Tollymore National Outdoor Centre raised £220.

  • Chris Geatch kindly raffled a digital camera, he won in a photo competition. Chris combined the proceeds with a personal donation, contributing a total of  £125 to the Shark Trust.
  • Marine conservation students, from Cornwall College in Newquay, raised £134 during a Fin Fest Shark Awareness Day.
  • Blue Feather Photography raised £150 for the Shark Trust from a photoshoot.
  • Frederik Seelig completed the Bath Half Marathon with a great time of 1:36:29, Frederik raised £203 for the Shark Trust.
  • Christal Seas Scuba Ltd made a donation of £300 in January 2010.
  • Gavin Attwood took part in the Great North Swim 2009, raising £125 for the Shark Trust.
  • Camel Dive Club organised a Pub Quiz in support of the Shark Trust during European Shark Week. Catherine presented the Trust with a cheque for £110 at the Birmingham Dive Show.
  • Andy Beveridge, on board 'Whirlwind', went on a Red Sea diving trip in October, raising £120 for the Shark Trust.
  • On September 22nd at 1am, Lorraine Thomson spent one hour on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square, displaying messages for friends and family in return for donations to the Shark Trust. Lorraine raised £205. Click here to view video.
  • Mrs du Preez generously donated £200 to the Shark Trust.
  • Laura Evans completed her Padi shark awarness course and dive at the Blue Planet Aquarium in Fife Scotland in February and raised £210 for the Trust.

  • Paul Cramp raised £110 for the Shark Trust after completing a shark dive at Blue Planet Aquarium, UK.
