Endangered (EN) in the Northeast Atlantic

Species listed as Endangered have a very high risk of extinction in the wild. Monitoring and management is needed immediately as well as further research. In the UK, this is recognised through the inclusion of the Portuguese Dogfish, Leafscale Gulper and Basking Sharks, and Sandy and Undulate Rays in the UK Biodiversity Action Plan.

There are currently seven elasmobranchs (sharks, skates, rays) in the Northeast Atlantic listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List:
