Small-eyed Ray Distribution
The majority of Small-eyed Ray records submitted so far are from the southern coasts of England (particularly the southwest), Ireland and the west coast of Wales, with sporadic records from the Lancashire and Norfolk shores.
Key distinctions for identifying this eggcase include the long filamentous horns at top (although these are easily broken off), as well as the capsule being much wider at the top than bottom.
Read the Shark Trust's Small-eyed Ray ID Guide to discover more about the biology and conservation of the Small-eyed Ray, as well as information about fisheries.
