Spotted Ray Distribution
The eggcase of the Spotted Ray is common around much of the UK and Ireland - although records from the Scottish mainland and the northeast of England are few and far between at the moment.
Take a moment to run through the Shark Trust's Eggcase ID Key for this one - with an approximate capsule length of 60 mm and no keels, the Spotted Ray eggcase can be easily confused with that of the Undulate Ray.
Read the Shark Trust's Spotted Ray ID Guide to discover more about the biology and conservation of the Spotted Ray, as well as information about fisheries.
