Hello! My name is Riley Morin and I am a high school senior at Somers High School working on a Capstone project to learn more about tagging sharks to track their populations in order to protect them from being hunted and slaughtered.

I am taking on this project because I plan on studying marine biology in college to become an ichthyologist as my future career and would love to learn how we can help our finned-friends in any way possible. This is the first time I’ve participated in fundraising or anything like that and I am determined to make an impact on our community and try to raise as much money as possible to help marine conservation efforts. Sharks play a crucial role in healthy ocean ecosystems because they are a top predator, which means they keep their prey species populations at a healthy level to control overpopulation and prevent algae overgrowth that advances the decline of coral reefs.

Your generous donation can make a significant impact by funding research, conservation initiatives, and advocacy campaigns aimed at safeguarding shark populations. Together, we can ensure a brighter future for these vital apex predators and the delicate ecosystems they inhabit. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to a more sustainable and balanced marine world.

Please consider supporting this mission in any way you can to protect the sharks and preserve the beauty and diversity of our oceans. Your support means the world to the future of our planet. Thank you!
