Our much-anticipated summer issue is out now!

Big thanks to our friends at Crossfire for designing another fantastic issue. And to all our members for their continued support over these challenging few months.

In Issue 64 we explore the power of collective action. Shining the light on all the ways supporters have been, and can be, involved in creating positive change for sharks.

From helping us gather vital data by recording shark sightings and eggcases. To giving us a louder voice by joining as a member. Or signing a petition. There’s power in numbers. And this is key to making real change.

Other highlights include:

  • The Manta Rays of Raja Ampat – Raja Ampat is one of the few locations where both Reef and Giant Manta Rays live. It also a has a high proportion of black (melanistic) reef manta rays, affectionately named the Ninja Warriors! In this article, Simon Pierce from the Marine Megafauna Foundation shares his research discoveries at this fantastic ‘natural laboratory’.

  • How Climate Change is Affecting Sharks - Tom “The Blowfish” Hird gives us the low down on a recent study that explores the effects of ocean acidification on shark skin.

  • Fancy a career in shark conservation? Check out the third in our series of career articles, where we ask shark experts from around the world for their top tips and career advice. This issue we interview Dave Ebert, known for finding and discovering rare and unknown sharks (aka the 'Lost Sharks').
