Join us and Steve Backshall to stop uncontrolled shark fishing

Overfishing is the biggest threat facing sharks today!

Sharks are extremely vulnerable to overfishing. They reproduce slowly and have few young. So they're unable to reproduce fast enough to replace the huge numbers being fished. Some species are more vulnerable than others.

Sharks are a source of awe, mystery and wonder. But they also play an important role in keeping our oceans healthy. It's unimaginable to think of a world without them. Acting now will ensure they have a future in our oceans.

Our No Limits? sharks in particular are in serious trouble and need our help. These include Blue Sharks, Shortfin Mako, Tope, smoothhounds and catsharks. All are being fished at an alarming rate in the Atlantic, as there are no limits to the number fishermen can catch.

We urgently need to limit the amount of No Limits? sharks fishermen can catch. Before it’s too late.

The Atlantic is managed by an organisation made up of over 50 different countries. We need you to help us convince them to set science-based catch limits for No Limits? species.
